NEW QUICK TEST – SARS-CoV-2 + Influenza (A+B) + RSV + Adenovirus + Mycoplasma pneumoniae Antigen
The antigen test offers a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2, influenza A, influenza B, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), adenovirus and M. pneumoniae antigens in nasopharyngeal swab samples. The test is recommended for patients with influenza-like symptoms.
Advantages:
- Fast results – within 40 minutes;
- High sensitivity, specificity and accuracy;
- Detection of five pathogens simultaneously;
General Information:
- COVID-19 is an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by SARS-CoV-2. The main manifestations include fever, fatigue and dry cough. Nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, myalgia and diarrhea are also observed. The main source of infection is people infected with the virus as asymptomatic persons can also be a source of infection.
- Influenza is a contagious respiratory disease caused by influenza viruses. Influenza viruses can cause mild to severe illness. Elderly people, young children and people with other co-morbidities are at higher risk of a more severe course and complications. The two main influenza viruses, types A and B, circulate in the population and are characterised by their seasonality.
- Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) – the most common causative agent of lower respiratory tract infections in infants and children. It is transmitted mainly by the air-drop route or direct contact. The peak period for the spread of the virus is in the months of November to April.
- Human adenoviruses – constitute an important group of etiological agents that are responsible for various diseases in adults and children, such as respiratory, ocular, gastrointestinal and urinary tract infections. In immunocompromised individuals and individuals with organ transplants, these agents can cause generalized infections.
- Mycoplasma pneumoniae – an infection with worldwide distribution. Occurs throughout the year, most often in the colder months. The clinical diagnosis of infection with M. pneumoniae is often hampered by the absence of specific signs and symptoms, although in most cases increasing cough, malaise, subfebrile fever and headache are reported.
