Kandilarov Laboratory is a private medical-diagnostic laboratory with the status of a pre-hospital medical facility. The laboratory was established in 1999 as a family company with only one laboratory centre in the town of Kandilov. The company has only one laboratory in Sofia and a staff of eight employees.

Over the years since its establishment, Kandilarov Laboratory has established itself as one of the largest and leading private medical diagnostic laboratories in Bulgaria thanks to its quality, professionalism, accuracy, honesty and reliable results.

With the help of top-level professionals, SMDL “Kandilarov” Ltd. has successfully implemented a number of projects in the field of medicine and human resources, which give a finishing touch to the high-quality services in the laboratory.

The laboratory performs a wide range of qualitative and quantitative medical diagnostic tests in all fields of medicine – hematology and immunohematology, coagulation, biochemistry, immunology, hormonal tests, tumor markers, virology, microbiology, parasitology, urinalysis, drug monitoring and molecular diagnostics.

Certificates and quality control

Kandilarov Laboratory is the first private laboratory in Bulgaria accredited to ISO 9001:2008 in 2003. This quality standard is renewed every year after an audit by external assessors.

All tests are checked by our staff according to standard operating procedures /SOPs/ and URS/UKAS. The accuracy of the results is guaranteed and monitored by internal controls and external controls provided by the National External Quality Assessment System (NQAS) and INSTAND (Germany).

NHIF and health insurance funds

Manager with more than 17 years of experience in managing medical facilities. With a Master’s degree in Biochemistry and a proven track record in business development, integrating innovative methodologies and new products.

Dr. Naiden Kandilarov

Co-founder of
Graduated from Medical University – Sofia with specialties in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Master in Health Management at the UNWE.

Member of the Bulgarian Gastroenterological Society, ASGE /American Endoscopic Association/ and ESGE /European Endoscopic Association/.

Over the years, Kandilarov Laboratory has become a preferred partner of many of the leading pharmaceutical companies and clinical research firms. The laboratory participates in a number of clinical trials conducted in Bulgaria in the field of oncology, hematology, endocrinology, pulmonology, cardiology, nephrology and others. Particularly important is the high standard of conducting clinical trials in full compliance with the requirements of Bulgarian and international standards.

The laboratory has signed contracts for medical diagnostic tests with a very large number of public and private hospitals, medical centers and clinics throughout the country.

Since July 1, 2010 Kandilarov Laboratory has been a partner of Limbach Laboratory (LIMBACH) – the largest medical diagnostic laboratory in Germany and one of the leading laboratories in Europe. This partnership opens up new opportunities for Kandilarov Laboratory, giving it access to the latest and most advanced tests and expanding the range of medical diagnostic tests we offer on the Bulgarian laboratory market.

Kandilarov Laboratory over the years

1999г.

Kandilarov Laboratory started its activity as a family company with one laboratory centre in the town of Kandilarov. The company has one headquarters in Sofia and a staff of eight.

2003г.

First ISO accreditation.
Accredited to ISO 9001:2008. Kandilarov Laboratory is the first private laboratory in Bulgaria certified under this quality standard.

2010г.

The laboratory becomes part of the LIMBACH GROUP – the LIMBACH laboratory is the largest medical diagnostic laboratory in Germany and one of the leading laboratories in Europe.

2011г.

A new central laboratory is opened in the town of. Varna.

2017г.

Kandilarov Laboratory has. Sofia and 26 branches in the city and the region;
– large central laboratory in the city of Sofia. Varna and 8 branches in the city and region;

2018г.

Kandilarov Laboratory updates its quality certificate by becoming ISO 9001:2015 certified
